More than I did Yesterday

I wont keep you long.  Yesterday I wrote about the “all things” nature of the Gospel and how we all as Christians GET TO (because it is a privilege) live out the gospel in our daily lives.  Today I just want to touch on the transformation that takes place because of what Christ has done.

Similar to yesterday we have to go beyond just confessing the facts and realize the story taking place beneath the facts.  The Father is reconciling all things to himself in Jesus.  Within the ALL THINGS is you and me.  Colossians 1:22-23 says, “And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him…”

There is this incredible “then and now” nature to all Christians.  At one time participating in the world’s defiance of God really turned us on, now we take our pleasure in being completely renovated by an awesome Savior.  This is a daily process and there will be failure along the way.  But Christ’s blood overwhelms any failure we can bring to him and that is truly humbling.  This daily process has me praying a new prayer in ’09, “Today Jesus, help me to love you more than I did yesterday.”
