I was eating some ice cream and enjoying every bite of it.  But I noticed – and I hadn’t eaten that much – I kept saying to myself, “I’m getting closer to finishing!”  And every bite became this growing dread and I feared that I would run out soon. 

The Bible teaches us to be aware of our time on Earth.  Yet the point is not that we dread everything coming to a close, but that we use every  minute wisely Psalm 90:12!    I should be aware that my time here on Earth (just like my ice cream) will run out and with that awareness live wisely enjoying – the way God intended – every moment (spoonful)!
