wisdom from sages (part two)

Continued from yesterday.  This is from one of my favorite professors, in fact the rest of these days may be from him!

#2 Always be “marinating” in Scripture, and when speaking to others ask God if there is a story (or principle) from Scripture that you can talk about with the other person.

Well this involves a lot but to put it simply…I should always be submerging myself in Scripture by reflecting on it.  And when giving advice or just talking to another person, I should take a brief PAUSE asking God if there is anything in Scripture that speaks directly into their situation.

There is a lot of “Christian” advice-giving that neither originates from the Holy Spirit nor his word.

I should always try to be “biblical” and seek opportunities for how this great and relevant faith is applicable to any situations I encounter.
