AIDS cure

The other day during chapel (it’s like a forced worship service 3 times a week), a girl prayed saying something to the effect, “Lord, and we boldly pray for a cure.”  It was in reference to the global AIDS crisis.

In that moment, I thought (hopefully prompted by the Holy Spirit), maybe the church is the cure.

What if the Church finally got involved in the right way?  Not trying to match what other secular and even Christian organizations are already doing.

Where medicine is stumped the Church says we can help.  In the darkest, and the most abandoned places in the world we shine forth the glory of our God who has shown himself to be compassionate and gracious, slow to anger abounding in love.

I am not suggesting that there will be a miraculous turn around and AIDS will take no further lives, but I just wonder what could happen if the Church just started to move!

But personally, I don’t know where to start.  If someone has some ideas post them in a comment.
